Jai Vilas Palace Gwalior !

Jai Vilas Palace of Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh was built in the year 1809, located in the new city of Gwalior. The palace was constructed to welcome the ‘Prince of Wales’ on his visit to the country. The magnificent white colored Jai Vilas Palace is an electric mix of contemporary style and traditional Indian motifs that creates a variable feast for the senses.
The palace was designed by Lt. Col. Sir Michael Filose and is a combination of the Tuscan and Corinthian architectural styles. Built by the Maharaja Jiyaji Rao Scindia, the palace is adorned with furniture from Versailles, ornate mirrors, Venetian cut glass swing, two Belgian chandeliers a huge dining table and an antique Rolls Royce.
The palace, reminds the last rulers of Gwalior - the Scindias, although the current maharaja still lives in a portion of the palace, a large part of it is now a museum.
